Summer programs around 5k?

I’m an incoming junior and I have yet to apply to any summer programs. I know I’m pushing it a bit, since deadlines are coming up fast.
I attend a relatively prestigious school in California, with a 3.8 UW GPA, all honors/AP classes, a 220 on the PSAT, and (hopefully!) a 33/34 on the ACT. I’ve got a few good extracurriculars so I think I’m in decent shape, but I’m not aiming for anything too prestigious. Math, biology, and design/architecture are my main interests,
Many of the students at my school are applying to COSMOS and CTY. Both seem great, but very…generic? I’m looking for something that will help me stand out from the floods of other amazing students at my school. It doesn’t necessarily need help me get into Stanford, though it does need to be around the 5k price point. I would apply for scholarships and grants, but I’m not exactly a minority.

All help is appreciated, thank you!

You could have a look at SSP. It is incredibly hard to get in, let alone if you are an incoming junior. Yet, you can try your chance at it. You could also look at the research internships offered by the Canary center at Stanford.

Please, COSMOS is fine. The program doesn’t necessarily need to stand out(though it’s still pretty good); rather, it’s about what you take from the experience. I had the time of my life at davis, and pretty much related my experiences in my cluster to my major in the personal statement. It’s definitely a program to highly consider.

@acuteangles, you are a junior now? You should consider the Yale Summer Program in Astrophysics: http://yspa.yale.edu. It’s similar to SSP, and they only take rising seniors.
