Summer programs for 17 year old rising college Freshman/ just graduated high school

I’m having a lot of trouble finding programs for my daughter. She will still be 17 (turns 18 during Orientation week) and most summer programs are for kids entering Senior Year of high school. She could do academic work, of course, but is particularly interested in classical music (we’re looking at NYU Steinhardt for later in July)…there’s very little out there for someone who is FINISHED with high school. There was a theater program in NYC but it begins the week of her graduation, and she can’t miss that.

We need a program that falls between June 1 and July 11. ANY IDEAS or SUGGESTIONS appreciated.

Why have her busy during her last summer at home?

Is she an instrumentalist or singer? There are plenty of summer music programs for very talented musicians…but the vast majority had application and audition deadlines that have long since passed for this summer.

Just realized I haven’t been on in a long time…we’ve had to cobble together voice and dance classes to cover that time. Thanks for reply.

I think Cornell offers programs for rising college freshmen.

How 'bout do something entirely different. Volunteer with kids, the elderly. Go hiking. Sleep in.
