See if you can find something that is super important to you. The more you do that, the more your passion will show in your essays for college. Trying to game the system and guess what admins want to see, is not the way to find your passion or to fill your heart and application with true excitement and enthusiasm.
Genuine enthusiasm, conviction, and good writing, that will win the day.
Truthfully, you can write about athletic shoes, and get into an Ivy. I’ve seen that done. You can write about anything, and written well enough, with conviction, that can often be more important than the subject matter.
