Summer Reading

So they said that the summer reading assignment would be posted mid-May, but it still isn’t up on the website. Hmmmm…wonder if there is a heated argument going on somewhere about what the book will be. :-)

Wait…this just in…

While perusing a page on the Freshman Foundations Courses, I found this line:
“Our summer reading will be on quite a few syllabi—Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner”

I know that was not the summer reading for last summer (it was a book about climate change), so maybe that is the assignment for this year. It’s hard to tell because there is still some stuff from 2007 on the “First Year” pages.

Incoming freshman have assignments?

Freshman are told a book to read before coming to campus in the fall. The book is discussed during orientation and in several FFC classes. Some students don’t read the book and wind up being fine, or they can always read it later. But don’t worry about it not being posted yet, it will be up soon enough and the summer reading last summer took me maybe 6 hours total to finish.

yep. :-)

Update…

This was posted on the “Chapman University Class of 2012” Facebook group:

timely said: “This was posted on the “Chapman University Class of 2012” Facebook group:”

Can you post a link to the Facebook group please? I’ve done a search but I can’t seem to find it!

Cheers,
Claire

Claire,
I started a new thread with the links for the Facebook groups so others would be able to find the links, too. I don’t know what the deal is with Facebook’s search. You can search groups for “Chapman University Class of 2012”, which is the exact name of the group, and it won’t come up!
