How does it actually work? I know that you can take some courses in the summer and you can get up to 9 units (as far as I know) if you take three courses. Is summer school usually 6 weeks long? And are you able to take summer courses in a different state from where your college is? Like go to a community college in a different state?

you can take courses at a different university but you have to make sure all the credits transfer b/c there’s instances where they don’t.

Most colleges will let you take classes at other schools (including community colleges) and transfer the credits. But get your college’s approval before taking the classes–not everything will be automatically approved. Typically the grade you receive will not be averaged in your GPA (but, again, different schools have different rules–stop by the registrar’s office to find out).

Summer school is cake because most of the people in the class are people who failed it the first time around.

The length of the course varies if you’re on semesters or quarters, but usually it’s about 6 weeks long, although some schools will have 10 week sessions.
