Summer Science Program (SSP) 2011

I have to travel nearly 8000 miles
soo looking forward to it and good luck to everyone else

its > 8000 miles for me.
Well,who cares, CA next

Congrats guys. hope to see you all soon.
Well, those internationals who got in, tell us more about yourselves and yeah the campus you will be attending

Dear Fellow SSPians’11
I have just created the summer science programme’11 page on FB. Add yourself guys, especially internationals who got the admission decision. Others, US nationals you will have to wait.
ALL THE BEST, anyway.

Wow, this is all so exciting. I really hope I can get in to meet all of you. Westmont is about 100 miles from my home (2 hour drive), which is pretty meager compared to the distances traveled by the international applicants, but it makes for an exciting experience with all the diversity x)

add yourself to FB Summer science programme’11

I haven’t received a letter of either rejection or acceptance, so I’d feel unwelcome D:

ANyone got in 2011 SSP NM?

Interesting use of the British spelling of ‘programme’ ^.^ I feel right at home :stuck_out_tongue: But I went on FB and looked up ‘Summer science programme’11’, but nothing like it came up :frowning: Any link or anything like that?

And yeah I got into SSP NM :)

Hey guys,

yea excuse my british wording!

and yea execute fast.

Are there any other CC sophomores that applied this year?

I applied as a sophomore this year.

high five

My dad told me not to even think about it, but I just sent in the application anyway. I’m totally applying again next year if/when I get rejected this year.

This thread is so dead until US decisions to come out. To pass the time, here are some old threads to read through x)

haha TASP/RSI did okay until their respective D-day(s), so I think we can keep this alive

It’s so entertaining to watch the storm of mixed emotions that accompanied the other acceptances/rejections, but somewhat unnerving to know that our own similar fate is not so far off.

lol reeeejected from both
also, something to keep in mind: In both 2009 and 2010, acceptances/rejections came out a month after the deadline. We might be getting something soon…

Hopefully, but also keep in mind that the estimated dates for the decisions in the application stated 4 weeks. This time around it’s 6 weeks D:

Perhaps the number of applicants has increased significantly?

Man, I can’t wait anymore haha hopefully we’ll hear from them soon enough.

Anyone here part of the US Physics Team or a Semi-Finalist?

Apparently there were 665 applicants this year, of which 108 were international. Probably a new record ;D

What did you all choose to write about for your essays?
