I am considering applying to Yale’s summer session, and wanted to know if anyone has attended, and what they tought of it.

I am really interested in Yale, but the program is more expensive than some other ones that I have been considering, so I was wondering if there were any benefits (admissions or otherwise) that would make it worth the price.

It’ll show admissions that you’re interested in Yale, which can’t hurt you.

It’ll allow you to write a sweet “Why I want to go to Yale” answer.

If you get good grades, it will show them that you will be able to handle the Yale curriculum.

In my opinion, it’s a waste of money. I think you would do better to focus on pursuing your passions, like getting an internship or something.

went there… loved it… ohh, and in case ur wonderin… got in… but dont get ur hopes up… as far as i know, only like 2 or 3 of the ppl that went to yale ss got into yale u… but im just here to tell u that it was ttly wrth it cuz of the experience and the connection with the yale ambiance (5 weeks is very different from 3 days…) besides, a recommendation from a yale profesor wont hurt u… ;)

don’t do the program thinking it will get you into yale. But i’ve heard really good things about it from my friends who did it. And you’ll have a few yale credits if you end up here, which would lighten your course load a little. Other colleges might accept the credits too, i suspect.

Thanks for the advice!
I totally get that it’s by no means a golden ticket for admission, I just really want to do the program and I’m looking for ways to justify the price to my parents, lol.

Does anyone have information on the Yale summer drama session? My son who is a sophomore at another college wants to attend. Is it mostly high school kids?
