Summer storage?

Do any current students know what options are available to store your things over the summer? Does the school offer anything? D said she’s seen tons of flyers advertising different storage options but nothing that’s through the school.

Yes, she could post this herself, but we have an agreement: she doesn’t do CC and I don’t do Facebook.

just do the thing that’s in front of the duc. 125$ for the summer and they deliver to your dorm next year

^thanks – much appreciated.

What is “the thing in front of the DUC”? How much will they store and how do they store it? I would love any and all info on that.

I’m assuming my D (current freshman) will know. Your child is an incoming student, correct? I think the storage option is only available for current students, but maybe I’m wrong.

I am already thinking of next May, since I just learned that we need to fly him directly from Emory to a family commitment in a different state. I am hoping he can move his things by himself to some sort of storage and then take Marta to the airport.

Understood. I bet he’ll make a bunch of friends who can help him, if need be. DUC is the main eating place (Dobbs University Center) – I’m sure he’ll have it all down after freshman orientation.

Yea, he’ll know what “the thing in front of the DUC” is by his second day here. And he’ll know campus by heart by the end of the second month.

Marta to the airport isn’t a big deal. I do it 3 or 4 times a semester and never had any problems.
Storage isn’t really a big deal either. Almost everyone does it so just ask any student here.

Besides using a storage service, there are two self-stores very near campus.

One is southeast of campus on Clairmont Road just south of N. Decatur Road, and the other is northwest of campus on Zonolite Road just west of Briarcliff (across from Clifton Road).

Several students can share a space, bringing the cost down to $50 per student for the summer.

I know my roommate uses Dormestics. You pay for the boxes and storage, they will come to your room and pick up the boxes and they will also put them in your new doom wherever you move the next year. Quick, easy, but a little on the pricey side if you ask me.
