I guess my suggestion of the 92nd street Y didn’t rank??? j/k j/k j/k :-h
I was just reinforcing your excellent suggestion POP!
he’s already reached out to them, parentofpeople! (Thanks to you, too.)
D1 stayed at one of the New School dorms. She loved the location and the room. She was able to get a single. D2 stayed at the Y. She shared a room with someone from her school because it was the only option she had. They Y is not as convenient for young people because it is far from all the good restaurants and bars. Cab fare from downtown to 92nd st can be pricey. If your son is going to be down at Wall St, I don’t think the Y is the best choice. The 86th subway can be very crowded in the morning.

Sounds pretty nice, and not your standard Y accommodations.
Location might matter a lot, but I would say it is a great idea for them to live on a campus or in housing specifically for students and interns like at the Y. A random sublet doesn’t seem like a good idea unless it was with multiple friends at the very least.
