Flying into Manchester NH gives you a LOT of options. That’s what family members here do when traveling to Maine.
But you could easily head up to the Jaffrey area of NH. Or any other number of great locations in NH.
If you fly into NH, you can drive north from there…easy to get to lots of different places, and SW flies there.
We love the Camden ME area. There is a LOT to do within an hour or so drive, so Camden makes a nice base. Great restaurants, lovely seaport downtown, good hiking nearby, charming downtown. It won’t be guaranteed to be warm in June, but if you go before school is out, you will beat the summer crazy crowds.
If you don’t want to go that far north, the Wells/York area is very nice. And it’s not that far from there to Portland where there is a lot to do.
Ogunquit is south of York/Wells. Nice beach there and it’s a neat town too. Only 15 minutes or so from Wells.
Why is Ogunquit, Maine so popular?
Even with so many delightful options, it’s hard to compete with Ogunquit. Situated on the state’s southern coast, it’s a charming resort destination with a vibrant arts scene, great restaurants (Maine-style lobster roll, anyone?), and one of the best beaches in the country
If you head inland, I’m sure that you could find some nice hiking.
