summer work..

my S is 15, and willing to work to earn a little money. Do you know where a 15 years old can find a job? we live in a big city( miami)…

A local restaurant? Fast food chains may be a good place for summer work, but stay away from hamburger/pizza joints–the greasy environment does not exactly promote healthy eating. Friends have told me that Subway, Quiznos, Panera, etc. are much more enjoyable.

Is your son interested in being a lifeguard, paid tutor, babysitter, etc. at all? Can he work at a supermarket/grocery store or any other local establishment? A gas station or car wash? The easiest thing to do is ask around.

Capable boys who are good with young children are in big demand at local kids’ gyms. If he’s athletic and enjoys young children, he could try a local gymnastics center or cheer gym.

Try local ice cream places, they’re mainly only open in the summer and tend to hire high schoolers.

^good idea wordgirl. I have to point out, though, that in Miami ice cream places aren’t seasonal.
