WOW! I had two of my kids attend Plattsburgh. My D graduated in 2014 from a 5 year program. My son left after 78 credits, but for mental health reasons. Both of them had Dr. Wiley in the honors program and both of them liked him a lot (my kids are white and Jewish).
The drug trafficking is primarily in the town. My kids and I always found the University police to be responsive (my D was an RA for 3 1/2 years, so she dealt with them a lot).
