I loved the opening and showcasing of New Orleans music scene. Although I didn’t know much about Kendrick Lamar and am not much of a rap person, I certainly enjoyed and appreciated the symbolism of his performance.
If a team was going to be dismantled, I’m glad it was the Chiefs and not the Bills. Eagles played great! And count me a fan of the halftime performance. It’s the first time I’ve watched the SB in it’s entirety in a long time.
I am very much not a Tom Brady fan. Not at all. Total opposite in fact. But I get the talking about himself. The game was such a blowout that it was kind of boring. At least he could talk about his experience both winning and losing super bowls, and what it’s like to be in there and dealing with the emotions of trying to rally a team. He’s not particularly good at calling games, but I actually thought that this was the first time that I’ve seen him this year share insights that were unique or remotely valuable. (Although still not worth that insane contract he has.)
We’re big Eagles fans, and I was blown away by that game! I felt confident going into the game that the Eagles could come away with the W - but never imagined they’d have the second string in at the end of game!
Gotta love Nick Foles, who posted after the game that Brady was present for both of the Eagles SB wins, and might be a good luck charm!
I will say, it was interesting to see Serena Williams doing the “Crip Walk” in the halftime show while wearing Crip blue, since her half sister was murdered by a Crip gang member in 2003.
It’s a song, and it was a dance. If you don’t understand the art, that’s fine … but then perhaps you don’t understand what it was all about. I know that I don’t, but I’m not going to judge what I don’t understand.
There were a lot of levels to Lamar’s performance. I suspect that Not Like Us hits in a totally different dimension for people that are actually from Compton.
Anyway I trust that Serena knew exactly what she was doing up there.
