S and his cousins made a fireball cocktail that was red and really packed a punch for his wedding. Some version of lemonade would make a nice yellow beverage or some apple beverage—spiked, mulled cider?

3 Ways to Enjoy the Super Bowl when You're Not a Football Fan.

When we used to host Super Bowl parties we had ā€œzonesā€. The serious football watchers/fan were in the basement with the big screen. The folks that were kinda watching but really just interested in the ads/half time were in the family room, off the kitchen. The people who didn’t care at all usually congregated around the food in the kitchen.

I didn’t bother worrying about entertaining for the non football fans…it’s the super bowl! ; ).

We go to friends now and they have a similar zone set up and people break up according to their interest in the game.

My friend who is a a 49’s fan serves these when they play. I think he said they can be served warm, too??

I call this the ā€œdonut on a stringā€ game:

  1. Hang some individual strings/threads from the ceiling or, if outdoors, from the roof overhang or some other lofty place. Space the strings at least a couple feet from one another.

  2. Hang the strings at such a length that they end about 1-2 feet above the floor.

  3. At the end of each string, tie a donut.

  4. Participants line up in front of a donut, on their knees, with their hands crossed or tied behind their backs. (one donut per participant…)

On ā€œGO!ā€, the object is to lean forward and, using only their flexibility, balance, and mouths, to finish their donut first.

The messier the donuts, the better…

How many wives do you have? hehe

:joy:… Funny

We usually rate the commercials. We print out, on card stock, with 50-100 numbered lines.

People write the product for each commercial. 0 to 5. If the whole room laughs, it’s an automatic five.

The car commercials rarely get fives. You have to watch carefully because some are 15 second spots.

Then there’s usually some ā€œyoungsterā€ that replays them from the Internet. People are so into the commercial ratings that there’s arguments about which was the coolest, the funniest, sweetest, etc…

We’ve played ā€œspin the bottleā€ with different topics within the game or halftime.

I’m not really interested in the game but AM interested in a fun, not-necessarily healthy meal so going to make a small feast Sunday evening. I think I’ve decided on everything but some dessert

Baked crispy chicken wings
Loaded tater tots (or ta-chos)
Spinach artichoke dip
Big green salad or lots of raw veggies
Maybe ice cream sundaes for dessert

Non-fancy food but each kicked up a notch with some exciting flavors.

Editing cause might have to add this!

Cosmos for KC (Taylor’s drink of choice). Margaritas for SF. Because it’s always margarita time.

I have to admit that I’m not a huge superbowl party fan. I want to watch the game and mostly the women want to talk. I’m not much fun.

So many great suggestions here. Thank you all!

Holy Moly, is Usher ok? He is sweating PROFUSELY. If he were 10 years older, I’d worry he was having a heart attack!

We just got back from a road trip, so we picked up BBQ at a favorite place that turned out to be very mediocre.

I quit watching when he couldn’t keep his hands off Alicia Keys. He does appear to be wearing a very heavy outfit.

All came together at the end with the last song. First part was a little scattered, too much going on on the screen

The commercials have been a huge disappointment! So far, only 2 good ones.

lol at migrating birds!! A Seahawk catching a salmon (?) - outstanding.

Two more excellent commercials! Unlikely suspects: Pfizer and Bud Light!
