We are throwing a Super Bowl party again this year. Not all our guests are that much into the game so Iām looking to do some other fun stuff to keep everyone entertained (one idea is football bingo).
Do you do anything fun other than watch the game? Any cool KC/49ers themed food or drink ideas?
Eat. Thatās what we do. If the food is atrociously fattening and heart-attack worthy, youāve done your job. Iād be annoyed by any attempt to distract my focus from food, cocktails, and conversation. That there are commercials and football to glance at occasionally is more than enough entertainment for me.
Iāll bring the jalapeƱo poppers and Mikeās hard lemonade. DH will bring the martini and Manhattan fixings.
I believe lots of finger food ā especially foods one rarely indulges ināis the preferred way to enjoy the time. Assorted beveragesābeer, signature cocktail(s), maybe mocktails?
Thank you all. Please keep the ideas coming. Some great ones already.
Iām also looking to make a red colored cocktail for the KC fans and a yellow/gold colored one for the Niners fans. Any suggestions? Ideally I should be able to make them both as mocktails too.
We have people over on a regular basis for Michigan games this year and I have a dedicated home theater with front projector and screen. We have movie nights after dinner also but sometimes the dinner goes long and just do that. Lol.
I also like people who are into it. One wife reads a book even if we go to a sports bar so usually she stays home. But for a superbowl party she and others will be there. My wife only watches Michigan football so sheās fine socializing with whomever doesnāt want to watch it. I am not. We have done this before and I never enjoyed the game since I felt like I had to āhostā. These are all dear friends and get it. Saying that, I am going through the suggestions for ideas. Many of the people end up bringing stuff for everyone. My wife will make enough food and people will bring more stuff⦠Lol. Itās always fun and no one is ever hungryā¦
If I was planning a party with people Iād use a format like:
1-2 protein items (wings, meatballs, sandwiches)
A starchy hot side (cheesy potatoes, mac and cheese, yummy rice dish)
Something fresh and raw (salad, veggies/dip, fruit bowl)
DIPS - more than one! (guac, salsa/queso, artichoke, popper dip, crab dip - sky is the limit!!)
Couple of grab and go desserts (cookies, brownies, bars, cupcakes, mini cheesecakes)
Bowl snacks (things you put in a bowl and done: chips, pretzels, m & mās, sour patch kids, valentine conversation hearts)
Nice. No I donāt. A friend of mine and I took a day trip a few weeks ago to Ann Arbor. Costco had some great gear and then Dicks had lots of the same stuff as Mden for 50% off. Then we hit Mden and everything in between. Had lunch and back home. It was actually a really fun day and sunny and great to be back on campus.
All of our stuff is pretty typical or variations of some meat slider, chicken wings, pizza, salads, pasta salads or some pesto, different desserts. Beer /wine /some drink my wife comes up with. Appetizers⦠It all is enoughā¦
