Let’s keep it going and be extra civil to everyone.

The State has rested, but I always need a nap.

I missed the Mom’s testimony, but heard people questioning why it wasn’t the last testimony rather than the medical expert.

The defense will pick up on Monday.

I’m in. The statements the attorneys are making to the judge right now are fascinating. Both sides seem very confident that they are right.

I promise. Sorry about any nastiness in the last thread… Glad they let you reopen the thread. The trial is just getting interesting.

Razorsharp, great idea. Thank you.

I have to say, if I was ever in trouble, I would want the attorney O’Mara to represent me. I was far more impressed with his work than any of the other lawyers (and a few of them I think were terrible).

The judge denied the motion to acquit and the state will rest.

I agree that O’Mara is the best and brightest attorney on the case. But I was more impressed with the prosecution guy (Mantei? not sure what his name is) than I expected to be. I think his common-sense way of presenting the information would appeal to the “regular” people in the rooms, ie the jury.

Motion for judgment of acquittal was just denied.

I like the judge too, I think she’d done a good job of keeping everyone in line and on track.

Sorry, cross-posted.

On another note: that poor jury. Almost 5 pm on a Friday over a holiday weekend and they are starting to hear witnesses again.

Thanks for restarting this thread, razorsharp.

I pinky swear to be super civil.

I saw Zimmerman’s mother say it was his voice screaming and she was believable. But I still don’t think either mother could have told whose voice it was given that it was played over a cell phone and then recorded and replayed. But I didn’t see Martin’s mother testify, maybe she was even better.

I don’t think the mothers’ testimonies will change much. I don’t think Mrs. Z helped the defense, though, when she said she knew it was her son’s voice “because he was in anguish” rather than “I would know that voice anywhere.” Obviously, her son had by then told her the story (true or not) that his fear was what led him to kill TM.

Not sure how the uncle will hold up here…interesting angle, though.

Yeah I think all these voice recognition witnesses are a waste of time. The uncle is a little hard to believe but who knows.

Actually I think Zimmerman’s uncle is very believable. He thinks he hears Zimmerman’s voice.

I thought the uncle’s testimony sounded too perfect to be true, but I suppose it’s possible. didn’t realize he was in Orange county law enforcement.

sally–I also noticed GZ’s mother saying she knew because of the anguish, terror, in the scream.

I think O’Mara is a very strong attorney, and has a way of coming across as affable. (unlike West imho who seems arrogant)

Also thought Mantei was clear and convincing today.

I think tge uncle comes off as a credible guy but the story is a tad farfetched.

The jury is left with the testimony of Zimmerman’s mother and Uncle over the weekend. This looks like another prosecution error.

What did people think of the medical examiner? There were times when I laughed out loud at his responses and the way he presented them.

I thought the medical examiner was laughable.

Wait, so the prosecution had both mothers on the stand today? I thought Travon’s mother was on earlier, right?
