<p>lol thanks dude. my self esteem is actually really low. i have a terrible GPA for those schools and it’s gonna bring me nightmares for all the stress i have to deal with.</p>
<p>oh, and i forgot to add, i’ve been on multiple committees for different events and raised $100,000+ for international humanitarian aid and sponsorships.</p>
<p>GPA is low, but if you have heavy course load and an upward trend, it may help a little bit. You would be low reach, but the acceptance rates of these schools are very low even with matched stat.</p>
<p>WOWW. How in the world did you raise over 100,000 for humanitarian aid and sponsorships. Ok, raising 10,000 dollars is very hard to do at our age but is plausible. !00,000 is oh my God. I truly think that you will successful wherever u go even if u go to significantly worse college like Boston University you will endure success. I think you have a decent chance of getting into Harvard. It depends on how you do this year. I you get a 3.8-3.9 weighted gpa this year then you would have a rather decent chance.</p>

I think you will be fine. With Harvard, though, admission is never guaranteed. You have amazing SAT scores, despite what you think a very good GPA and more volunteer work than most people do in their lifetime. If not Harvard, you’re very likely to get into one of the Ivies</p>

<p>I must strongly disagree here – I concur that the OP will have the opportunity to succeed wherever he/she chooses to go – but BU is a wonderful school. It may not have the reputation or prestige factor of Harvard, but it still does offer wonderful academic and extracurricular opportunities. Earnestly, college is what you make of it, whether you end up at Harvard, or BU, or your state flagship university.</p>
<p>To the OP: You already know what your weaknesses (GPA) and strengths (everything else) are. Especially since you are a fairly unique applicant, nobody on this forum can even come close to offering you an accurate “chance.” You might get in, and you might not, and that’s just how selective college admissions work. However, I do believe that you might be a competitive applicant, so I’d encourage you to apply. I wish you the best of luck in your college application process and future endeavors!</p>
<p>4.8 isn’t that high compared to my school. We have like 5.5s and 5.6s for sophomores… We got freshman in statistics. But you have a okay chance. I would try dartmouth and cornell, because you may have a higher chance their</p>
<p>Just to clarify, the 100K is a total amount from a few events. A very large portion is humanitarian aid, the rest is sponsorship funds that helped to start the event. I did this with a team of other people much older and not alone. I did generate a lot of the funds personally. </p>

-State Finalist for a well known organization (not mentioning to protect identity)
-Top 10 placement at a state competition
-Varsity NFL
-Club sport champion + MVP
-Many many religious awards and titles that are international and very hard to attain in the western part of the world, especially at this age</p>
<p>I’m a senior now btw. I’m working for the next year and learning on the side to help my family. Supporting them has made it hard to make A’s all the time. </p>
<p>I was considering ED at Columbia or Duke–but I’d much rather wait and keep options open. Other schools on list are JHU, WashU, Rice, Dart/Cornell/Brown, Vandy, Michigan, Berkeley, UChicago, and CMU.</p>
