SO, CAN I GET INTO STANFORD WITH SUCH LOW SAT SCORES? ESPECIALLY MY PATHETIC CR SCORES!!!
Btw, I studied in a Chinese Independent High school from grade 7 -11, and spoke Mandarin 24/7…should I tell them this? Will it make a slight difference?
Oh, I am female, from Malaysia.

Unless your GPA is a 4.0 unweighted, I’m going to say no. Even then it still would be less than 50% IMO. You don’t have any hooks to make up for low sat scores either, so you really really need to make your essays perfect if you want to be accepted. You do have some really good EC’s though, so personally, I would focus my essay on one of them.

Those SATs aren’t that low. I know a good amount of people here at Stanford that got in with sub-2100 scores and they’re not all hooked. Obviously it’s a bit lower than average, but not so low that they’ll throw you out immediately. Also I’m pretty sure they ask if English was your first language or not, and even if they don’t, it wouldn’t hurt to slip it in somewhere in your app. It’ll explain your lower CR scores a bit better. I’d still say go for it.

the only problem is the 590 reading… which is the most important score as you already know. you have a chance obviously but i dont know quite how high it is. good luck. make sure your essays are great

usually yes. a lot of schools dont look at writing, and if youre applying for engineering then math is more important. otherwise CR is the most important score (thats what i’ve gotten from my counselor and all the college reps i’ve talked to)
