At least you’re playing in January.

Huge Vikings fan and I was very happy to see the Packers lose the way they did. Kaepernick is excellent though and I would not be surprised to see a Baltimore-San Francisco super bowl.

There is a very vocal group on the Dallas Morning News site that sings the same trite refrain over and over again. And then some more.

For many, having built the most valuable football franchise, the nicest football stadium, or being one of the best QB in this century will never be enough. The problem with bandwagon supporters is that there is only one to jump on every year.

Assembling a winning team requires more than money and talent. Luck plays a massive role and so do injuries.

The biggest mistake Jerry might have done is to try to stay competitive year after year. Alternating truly horrendous seasons and above average ones seems to work better. Look at the Colts, the Lions, the Saints, or Arizona. Or this year’s entire NFC East.

The games between the Patriots and the Super Bowl championship will be:

vs. Houston (whom they beat 42-14)
vs. Baltimore (whom they lost to 31-30)
vs. Atlanta, San Francisco (whom they lost to 41-34), or Seattle (whom they lost to 24-23)

Like I care about the stadium. Who needs a Victoria’s Secret in their stadium? I’d rather win, thanks. He didn’t build this franchise. He capitalized on an already-stellar franchise and proceeded to find ways to turn a profit on what already was America’s Team.

After a night to absorb the shellacking, my remaining rooting interests:

1) Russell Wilson
2) Anyone but the Patriots
3) Don’t care

I’d root for the Texans, but I fear that I’d doom them.

What’s the joke - “A lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client.”

I think this applies directly to owners and GMs - an owner who acts as his own GM is a fool.

Jones himself admitted he would fire himself as GM. The teams that have been most successful have owners that don’t think they know more than the football guys.

Not sure I’d have Romo in the top 15. Certainly not the top 10, which I think is where you need to be to be in a discussion about “best”.

Baltimore has so many “dirty” players on its team. I hope they get crushed the next game.

I like the Seattle story. A QB expected to be third string has now outlasted RGIII and Andrew Luck, the top two picks. Has there ever been a rookie QB starting in a Superbowl? If not, now it the time.

I’d root for Seattle if not for Pete Carroll.

I am afraid Seahawks will lose.

Atlanta is looking good, especially Gonzalez (if you don’t count the missed catch that was picked off by Wagner). Again, no vested interested in this game since my team isn’t in the playoffs but, in the end, I hope to see an AFC team win the SB. I just love football.

No Pete Carroll team will ever win in the NFL.

Fwiw, I completely disagree about Romo not being in the top 15 or top 10. His worst season rating is still above 90. You cannot simply rank QBs based on success in the playoffs or … winning a Heisman for that matter.

I understand the frustration regarding the Cowboys. I live it every year. I do not think our problem has been Tony Romo. The stats and his heart are on my side.

By the way as far as the franchise, should we remember how the last season of Landry worked under the great Aggie owner named Bum? And the first season of Troy Aikman?

I remember stories if my father driving around Dallas and dropping tickets to the game AND parking passes in his friends mailbox and the seats remained UNUSED. What seats might you ask. Try the luxury box directly opposite to the owners on the FIFTY yards line.

We did well with Aikman, Smith, and Irving, but we had to get a LOT worse before that to load up on the talent. And that is my point about Jones who could or should have played the fake mediocrity game a few times like some did in the recent past. Colts 2011 anyone?

Anyway, this should not be about the Cowboys.

I prefer to vent my dislike for any team led by Pete Carroll. Or any team where a thug like Golden Tate plays.

I hope they get even more of a beating in the second half.

That will ruin my day.
I am debating whether I should switch to netflix to continue my Downton Abby episodes then come back for the next game.

Go Falcons! Rise up!

Not sure why Golden Tate is any more a thug than any other NFL player.
50 seconds …

Yikes! Falcons are letting this slip away. This game has become interesting for the first time.

Another great game…

Good weekend for the nfl.
