Superbowl 2013

I peeked at the cost of superbowl tickets yesterday. As they say, fuggedabout it. Even the nosebleed endzone tix were like $2100 and up.

Even if you’re a season ticket holder and you’re able to score in that lottery to purchase a ticket at face value, they’re still very costly (upwards of $800 each now, I think). When my team went to SB XXXIV, DH and I were so hopeful that our season ticket number would get called, but it didn’t. We would have bought the tickets and we would have gone. If the football gods ever smile on my team again, we may go just for the NFL experience. We would not pay scalper prices for tickets but, even if we were in the environment, that would be enough … maybe.

Once again Gronkowski is useless.

Sounds like it was an exciting game for those who care.

The Texans are doing better than our last matchup:) Go Texans!! and what a game Seattle and Atlanta had! Great football this weekend!

Xiggi–Excellent QB ratings for Romo!!! Now if he could only win a playoff–and this woulda been his lucky year, not having to play against that ‘lucky’ team…But nope, neither Romo or that upstart with the 2 SB rings made it–this year, they are truly equal!

If the 49ers play like they did yesterday, they will beat the daylights out of the Falcons and also make me happy.

Glad to see the classless JJ Watt go home early.

I really don’t get why Atlanta tried an on-side kick at the end. It gave Seattle a shot at the end zone, whereas if they kick it deep Seattle would have virtually no chance. The chances of a big return are less than the chance of recovering an on-side kick.

Big win for the Pats though, who now get a home game for the AFC championship. I really hope they end Ray-Ray’s career, that guy bugs the crap out of me.

What a bummer about Gronk. :(

I asked my DS about what I thought was an onside kick. He explained that it was supposed to be something called a “squib” [About Football Glossary - Squib Kick](About Football Glossary - Pooch Kick) to prevent a return but it was a terrible play.

What Is Soccer? - SportsRec;

^^ It wasn’t an onside kick. It’s not easy to kick the ball out of the endzone, so Atlanta did a short kick or a “squib” to prevent a return, but their kicker did it wrong.

That was supposed to be a squib??? Major fail. Luckily for Atlanta it worked out.

No rookie QBs left.

I think (hope) the Ravens burned themselves out against Denver.

My son was in the audience of the Book of Mormon, which was showing in Seattle today. It started about 1:00PST…the game ended shortly after. He said that right when the Seahawks made their last touchdown, the entire crowd started screaming and cheering (nobody onstage yet). Then a few minutes later, the announcer came on and gave the usual speech about turning off cellphones…to which the entire crowd booed, and of course, ignored. The show started, and just a few minutes into it, the entire crowd groaned in despair.

I am sure the cast had absolutely no idea what was going on, and thought the crowd was completely insane.

^ That is hilarious lol.

Actually, it’s incredibly rude and my guess is that it wasn’t the entire crowd.

Ravens over 49ers (actually I think the 49ers will win but can’t help cheering for Ray Lewis on his last year now that the Texans lost today)

Exactly what I was thinking. I can’t imagine all the theater-goers were cretins.

The hilarious part, to me, was the fact that the cast thought the crowd was insane.

Ray Lewis weaseled out of manslaughter charges and deserves to go out a loser!!!

Hey Ray, it’s about the name on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back!

If it makes you feel better, cartera, I just asked my son for a more precise explanation, and he said that the crowd didn’t all groan. Just the few people sitting near him who were still following the game. So I’m sure the cast had no idea that the cretins in the back, (who were related to me), were groaning. We have plenty of cretins in Seattle, as anyone who spends much time here would realize. Even our wealthy aren’t very upper crust.
