These are new to me for some reason. I guess I haven’t been paying attention since their inception in '82! Could they really skew the election in Hillary’s favor?

they could skew in HC’s favor but if BO continues his run of caucus/primary wins and if he continues to fair better in head to head races with JMcC, I do not think there will be too much doubt how they will vote nor will it matter. And because the DP does not have any winner-take-all primaries as far as I know, HC’s chances are becoming slim to none. And if she does not win Ohio and Texas primaries decisively, its game over.

Even if the superdelegates want to skew to Clinton, I don’t think they’d dare take the risk of ignoring the voters and selecting her over Obama, particularly if he continues to widen his lead. That would send way too many independents and middle-of-the-road Democrats either to McCain, or just away from the ballot box. The slap in the face to the voters would just be too obvious and too dangerous.

I found out yesterday by reading the NY Times that my friend’s father is one of them. She was talking in January about how Clinton was a shoo-in and how after Super Tuesday it would be all over. How things change!
