Superscoring subject tests?

I didn’t do too well on my subject tests, so I’m planning to retake in October. Does MIT superscore?

MIT only takes into consideration the best subject test score for each category – they will only consider the best math score and the best science score an applicant has, regardless of when those subject tests were taken.

will MIT frown upon a 790 that was retaken to obtain a 800?

DON’T waste your money or your time to go from a 790 to an 800. Seriously. One, MIT won’t be more likely to accept you (admissions blogs seem to agree that all-700s-are-created-equal, and that 800 is just as favorable).

haha, okay i figured, wait but what if it was on the Math IIC, everybody gets an 800 on that!

… I got a 670

Ahh, Piper, you application must have been amazing regardless of your scores. I’m just not that special :P. I got a 720M II, 670 chem, 660 US. Of course, I can only blame myself and my lack of studying. =/ This is going to one fun summer.

feels amazing Hehe, point is you can get into MIT without 800’s. Study up and try again, but don’t be too worried if you have amazing ECs and good recommendations.
