I am in the school quiz and debate teams. I am also Quiz President and am a part of school leadership. In the last year of school there was some confusion regarding a quiz and the team failed to turn up. Although it wasn’t my fault, by virtue of being President I had to bear the brunt of the anger of the administration and was removed from a prestigious Intra-school debate team. However, I am still President and a school leader.
As I have always had a spotless disciplinary record, and even though this is a very minor issue it has affected me to a large extent. However, this incident can be incorporated suitably in a prestigious Liberal Arts college’s essay.
MY QUESTION IS: Should I talk about this incident in my essay? It has great potential, but on the other hand I do not want to come across as being irresponsible (which I am not).
Any advice from any dean/ professor/ student will be more than welcome.

it may really sound like an “incident” to you because you are probably an otherwise careful person, but I really don’t think it’s interesting enough or capable of casting you in a good light where you won’t come off as making excuses for that one thing that went wrong.

Thank you. Thought so too.
