<p>Should the CMU supplement essay be more of a formal essay, or a reflective narrative describing why I want to pursue said major?</p>
<p>My essay was formal. I basically described what made me interested in my major and then continued to say in what way I would pursue my major at CMU.</p>
<p>yeah, that would seem to make sense, since they almost sort of set you up for a 3-pronger with the question</p>
<p>Mine was a reflective personal essay.</p>
<p>I guess it just depends on your style. Just be honest.</p>
