Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: accepted to MIT, Williams, Oberlin, rejected from Yale.
General Comments: Damn, not even waitlisted. Well good luck/job everyone else!

what do you guys think?? guess Harvard isn’t into mathematical geniuses?

It shows it’s more than stats. We have no idea who this kid is and what his school had to say about him.

This user is a friend of mine and apparently he wrote a rather crude, “experimental” essay for his Harvard app resulting in a rejection. (At least that’s what he told me)

I’d like to hear his definition of an experimental essay.

He’s going to Williams…

Life sucks, right?

Harvard regularly rejects people who are more than well qualified. It is the worst college to predict chances for, especially since so many apply just for the household name.

Never gets your hopes high for Harvard. Most people who get in didn’t think they had a chance anyways

Harvard rejects this type of ppl simply because that the school wants to say something like this: “hey look even this great kid was rejected so dont be too sad if you didnt get in.”

Harvard doesn’t just look at scores. They receive thousands and thousands of applications with students with very, very high scores. It’s the way you stand out that makes them choose you.

I guess wharton master summed up why he was rejected. I guess he really meant “lame” when describing his essay…

It’s not his scores that are amazing, he was chosen to go to MOP, which only 50 kids go to each year… and he got awards in other national (USAMO) math competitions.
