So I was just rejected from Davidson College. Not even waitlisted. Crazy thing is, so far I have been accepted to Swarthmore College and WUSTL. At Swarthmore, they were impressed enough with my application that they sent me an early acceptance. And at WUSTL, I am a Thomas H. Eliot scholar (which I think is just a named need based grant but still). What makes even less sense, I was a top division one track and field recruit for Davidson, in which I would have been one of their top athletes. Both Swarthmore and WUSTL are DIII so I was not technically recruited. But isn’t that nuts? Like it really was not a top choice but still.

– they probably knew it wouldn’t be your top choice, so they gave the spot to someone else. congratulations on your acceptances.

Yeah but I mean, in an academic sense, I am not over qualified. 3.8 GPA and 31 ACT. And I am black. I guess you could be very right it was just really surprising

Whoaaaaaaaaaa Tiger, well I guess that was pretty obvious, you are a track runner. LoL. But anyway, yeah, race wasn’t the issue here. :D

*** dude lol thanks for the deep insight

Very nice options. Davidson is a fine place, but frankly I think the better academic choices are WUSTL and Swarthmore. It is a super tough choice. Personally I would go with where you feel more comfortable. If any had the slightest financial edge I would opt for the cheaper, but all things being equal would take me to Swarthmore.

Yeah I am leaning a tad bit towards Swarthmore. Although wustl gave me great financial aid. I also have not heard back from the three ivies I applied to (cornell, penn, dartmouth) so Idk, I’ll guess we’ll see how the cookies crumble. But so far I love swarthmore.
