I was suspended 4 times in my high school career. Various things, such as smoking, drinking, fighting, cussing out the teacher. yeah, so how’s it affect my chances?

my SAT is 2260
Math: 800
CR: 720
Writing: 740

SAT IIs Math IIC 790 and Chemistry 800 and Japanese 800
GPA: 4.3
Rank: 10/~300
My school doesn’t offer APs, but I took the AP Chem test and got a 5.

ECs: partying and having a good time with my friends.
i also have worked at McDonalds since I was 16.

hey man, I’ve been suspended and it’s awesome, 5 day vacation, but getting back to your question. As long as it’s not character related eg cheating, i think you are ok.

haha, actually I didn’t see that, I actually only have one suspension for drinking frosh year. I should have added that assault is also generally frowned upon. Cheating is generally the worst though.

I didn’t assault a teacher. I just cussed him out because I knew he was full of it and tried to hide it.

I guess you could say I assaulted some students. But it wasn’t for no reason. I have a ■■■■■■■■ sister, and if anybody makes fun of her, I usually let em have it. I mean, she’s the most important girl in my life. I’ve taken care of her since day 1, I remember holding helping to feed her and watch TV.

i also got in another fight, which kinda started off as a jokeful exchange of punches, but just erupted into swinging fists.

So you could probably say I need anger management, cuz these suspensions obviously aren’t working.

Do you think your counselors/teachers who are writing your recommendations and filling out your forms will mention this? Because if they’re not going to, there’s no way Northwestern will find out. Unless someone from Northwestern is reading this board and sees Rick F, but that would just be hateful- plus there could be more than one Rick F applying next year. Hopefully you have a couple of teachers that you’re really cool with, ones that you can be sure won’t screw you over. The counselor could be tough though. If you know that you’re gonna get ratted out in the recommendation, write a page or so about why you had to **** those haters up. Or you could even incorporate that into a good essay about what your sister means to you.

I’m sure you’ll be given a chance on all your apps to explain each and every one of your suspensions. Just do it truthfully and in a good light, and you should still have a shot.

I"m pretty sure that the application asks if you’ve been suspended, and I’m going to answer truthfully. I don’t have anything to hide. My teachers and counselors can mention it too.
