Switch Campus in Universities

im applying to university of pittsburgh, u of winsconsin, u of minnesota and pennsylvania state university.

can i apply to a 2nd best campus and switch to its main campus after one year? is it easy to switch? such as switching from university of pittsburgh bradford to pittsburgh campus or switch from riverfalls to madison

Many public colleges have programs or articulation agreements for students transferring from one campus in the system to another. For instance UW-M has Connections, but I don’t see the River Falls campus listed:

[Connections Program: Participating Campuses - Office of Admissions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison](http://www.admissions.wisc.edu/connections/campuses.php)

The number of credits can vary, so you need to check the college websites.

do any other universities accept switching after one year?

Yes. Penn State will allow you switch to main campus. In fact they have the 2 + 2 program which is 2 years at a branch and then 2 years at main campus. I do believe you can switch to main early as long as you finish your entrance to major requirements. If you’re from PA I think going to a PSU branch campus is a great idea. Save money the first two years and still have the benefits of being enrolled at a great 4 year university.

does that mean it will take me 6 years to graduate?

No. It should take you only 4 years. You would spend the first 2 years at a branch campus but if you finish your entrance to major courses early you may only have to spend 1 year at the branch then you would spend the remaining of your four years at main.
