Switch from SAT mindset

I took the SAT twice and am taking the ACT in about two weeks. I tried a few practice problems and they are so different, especially the essay. So any tips on question differences, etc? (As in, what examples to use for essay, how to answer passages, etc)

I got a 2230 on the SAT and a 36 on the ACT. What helped me most was recognizing the similarities and differences between both tests and honing my skill set towards the one tested by the ACT, which includes but is not limited to time management, trigonometry, and punctuation. Generally speaking, if you can do really well on SAT Critical Reading (I got a 800 in CR) then you can pretty much breeze through ACT Reading with a little time management. After you get used to the tricks of the trade for ACT science and become more comfortable with analyzing graphs and the time crunch, you should be good to go. ACT English and Math are a bit tricky to prepare for. Generally speaking, you just have to have a solid foundation and minimal prep (I barely prepared for these two sections the month before the ACT and didn’t even touch these sections the week of the ACT).
