Syracuse and high school freshman grades

Does anyone know if Syracuse U puts freshman grades into formulating GPA, or how much weight they place on them? I’ve heard a few different things and want to get it cleared up. I haven’t seen anything on their site yet.

Yes. Like all schools your freshman grades is taken into account. They don’t put too much emphasis into it since you just entered high school and they know yo’re jsta djsting but after that you need to work hard for sophomore, junior & senior years.

^^ Not exactly. Most of the public schools in the US don’t take the freshman grades into account, but they do look at it. But they don’t mean anything. Freshman grades aren’t put into the formula.
Also, isn’t Syracuse the school that doesn’t look at SAT scores? If so, that’s so bomb.

Syracuse is not test-optional. They do indeed consider test scores.

In terms of worries about freshman year grades, even if a college does consider them, they also consider each student’s grading TRENDS. So, if you have done significantly better in sophomore and junior year (and continue that trend in the first semester of senior year), freshman year grades will be a smaller part of the overall picture.

So, don’t sweat what can’t be changed at this point.

Ha. Thanks. Glad to have that a little bit clarified. That’s what I thought, but I had to make sure. I’m in love with Syracuse and didn’t want too much to hurt my chances.
