It would be nice if the admissions office let people know, even if they wait until tomorrow morning to indicate that decisions are coming tomorrow afternoon.

They don’t do that. Historically within the hour of release they post a past admissions reaction video to instagram.

My daughter just got an email saying she does not qualify moving forward for her second choice but nothing on her first choice? Anyone have this same problem. It almost looks as though they took her 2nd choice as her 1st choice.

Which school or program was your daughter pursuing as a second choice? Did they email her?

Syracuse and 2nd choice was acting. She got Drama Prescreen results via email and it is on the portal saying she didn’t qualify. It also says Next step: At this point, you can decide whether you would like to change your first-choice major or [withdraw your application]

This isn’t here first choice her first choice was film major.

So one school was VPA and the other was Newhouse? You mentioned film so presumably it’s Newhouse. You can either wait until tomorrow night or phone admissions in the morning for further guidance.

Thank you for responding. The film program is also VPA. I guess I will wait and she if we receive anything tonight.

I guess we will know if we see a post on the University’s Instagram account per the above message.

Last year they put a notice on their website. Does anyone know if they did that any year besides last year?

I reached out this morning regarding notification of our second choice and got a response back saying:

We are working on early decision and hope to notify students at some point next week on their first choice programs. A specific date will be posted on our website as soon as it if finalized.

So looks like we will not find out till next week sometime.

Interesting, thanks. I know activities on campus are winding down and last day of finals is Tuesday. Campus closes down next Friday, 12/22. So release decisions and shut the lights off? Hmmmm. Let’s see what happens.

Last year decisions were released in two batches, first on Friday 12/16 and then on Thursday 12/22. Maybe this year they want to do it all at once?

Yeah, that seems unfair. I called admissions and asked and their only response was “keep watching your e-mail inbox”. It would be nice to give some transparency. My kid is a ball of stress.

I just called and they said “not all students will necessarily hear on the same day. Last year was the first year they announced a few days in advance when it would be. They haven’t said anything yet. Most students will hear mid to late December. So sometime soon, could start today.”
