<p>I was wondering, which school (Syracuse, NYU or BU) would be better for landing a job as a sports anchor for a major sports network? </p>

<p>Newhouse (Syracuse) by far. Many current sports broadcasters went to SU. Check-out their web site for more info.</p>

<p>I don’t have any experience with this, but I assume that in a competetive field like that, where you go to school won’t matter as much as your drive and the people you meet and contacts you make. (With a lot of luck too)</p>

<p>When I went up there this past year, they said NBC is taking a group of students to the Olympics. Also many people from the major networks went there.</p>

<p>Lots of ESPN anchors went to Syracuse. Seems like the anchors mention that fact whenever ESPN covers a Syracuse football or basketball game!</p>

<p>As a matter of fact, the reporter who interviewed Terrell Owens in the interview that got him kicked off of the Eagles was actually a freshman majoring in broadcast sports journalism at Syracuse. Talk about great connections, and this kid was only a freshman!</p>

<p>how is NYU with undergrad journalism? If I wish to attend Law school and journalism school (both hopefully at COlumbia) would this be a good idea?</p>

<p>NYU is good with journalism, but definitely note AS good as Syracuse. Syracuse would probably be in the Top 5, NYU probably the Top 20.</p>

<p>And if you are ambitious enough, Northwestern is the best.</p>

<p>You’d want to ask somebody else…but the Medii School of Journalism is probably one of the best, if not the best, schools for Journalism in the nation. In terms of Broadcast specifically, it’s very high up there, no doubt. But, as was pointed out before, Syracuse seems to have more ESPN correspondants than Northwestern.</p>

<p>In terms of sports, though, Northwestern is in the Big 10…something else you’d want to consider.</p>
