Syracuse University Regular Decision 2021 (& 2022)

I believe financial aid awards are announced on or after April 1, since that will be the first day that all acceptances have been sent out, not counting waitlists I guess.

Do you think they are sending out more rejections or are they sending 2nd wave of acceptances? A lot of people got rejected on friday

The general consensus right now is that there will be a second wave of acceptances next week, and that getting accepted two weeks ago or next week is not dependent on your stats or Syracuse’s preferences but on semi-random chance. I don’t recall anyone saying they got accepted on Friday, which would indicate that the format SU is doing is: acceptances (two weeks ago) -> rejections (last week) -> second wave of acceptances (next week) -> waitlists? (after next week). But that’s just a theory. What’s certain is that nothing is going to happen at least until tomorrow evening.

@Scholar1917 @mattm12334 Hopefully it will be acceptances this week. If you go on SU Admission’s Twitter from March 2016, a lot of people were accepted March 30-31. I saw some people (around 4) who heard back yesterday from SU, and they got rejected

ok really hope we are all in the second wave of acceptances for next week. no more rejections plz

@atb514 thanks for the information! how did you know about those 4 kids that were rejected? Were they on this thread?

My S is also waiting on a decision from Syracuse as a top choice school. The unfortunate part for all that are waiting is that the overnight Dome event is scheduled for the upcoming weekend and so many kids have no idea if they have been accepted or not. My S is an OOS student and if accepted would have like to have attended the event but at this point there may not be enough time to plan or space available. Hoping that if acceptance are coming that they do not wait until Friday for this reason alone!

@atb514 Yeah that’s what I’m thinking too.

I’m assuming midweek

when was the event last year? because if a lot of people were accepted march 30-31, they probably didn’t go to the event

@mattm12334 I wouldn’t worry about the event… I’m and instate student and I’ve already sent numerous potential roommates on the Facebook Group

I found out that some people also got accepted on 03/28(Monday) last year.

I was thinking about this Dome event, which was a great selling point when we toured S last winter. My daughter has been waiting to hear too. I find it odd and disrespectful to hold the Dome event on April 2 when prospective students may still receive an acceptance email. I hope this Dome event is not just for ED students, while spring receptions are for the rest of us:( My daughter has been accepted to another state school, which is probably a better fit at this point, less elitist, cheaper, and with a strong program in education-- her intended major.

someone should call admissions tm to ask when we are suppose to hear back if the event is suppose to be the same week

The dome event is geared towards HS Juniors

@bling0202 where did you find out?

Twitter. Some people posted their acceptances on 03/28 but Syracuse admission replied them on 03/30.

@mattm12334 Someone posted on this thread yesterday that she heard from SU last night and the other three are on another thread for SU’s music and theater program for class of 2021

I know some international students got accepted on Friday but not domestic students.

I believe that all we get admission letter on next week. i can not wait anynore, lol…:((
