So Kent gets the last position with a dance in his genre with a great choreographer. Do you think it was random? When he is out of his genre I don’t think he does as well as Robert and Lauren. His disco was ehh.

The way Kent dropped his shoulder at one point absolutely took my breath away…such acceptance and despair in one simple move.

They all seem more settled when they take their notes from the judges, no mugging…more maturity.

i still dont understand why they cant just give adechike good feeback without the BUT…!! if i did vote i think i would vote for him just because i dont think they have been fair along the way

But I don’t mind because at my house, we’ve been huge Kent fans since auditions.

HOWEVER, I think the manipuation of others backfired. Robert got the dreaded Vienese waltz…and nailed it. And Adechike got Afro jazz…and didn’t nail it. I kept waiting for that huge, joyful smile to break out on Adechike’s face but it never did. I guess being African American doesn’t insure that you can excel at Afro jazz.

I voted for the first time last night. About 15 for Kent. Six for Lauren. One for Adechike. Just 'cause.

There is just no way that all of the dance selections are random. It’s unfair. I think Kent did a GREAT job with his last number, but has everyone else had a Travis Wall number this year? He is an amazing choreographer.

Someone can do a wonderful job with a Broadway number, but is it going to stick with you the way some of the more emotional pieces are? So, everyone should do a Broadway number during the season. Everyone should do a jazz number, contemporary number, disco, or whatever. That way, each person has had to do the same dances, although not during the same week, during the course of the season.

My 2 cents about last nights show:

The night belonged to Robert. He was amazing in both of his dances dancing as well if not better than his all star partners.

As much as I like AdeChike he is the weakest of the 4 remaining dancers and it showed last night. Had the judges not been so unfair several weeks ago in their critique of him, while letting Jose slide by week after week; I believe AdeChike would not be receiving all of the backlash and sympathy voting.

The choreographer for the disco dance should be shot. Back in the day disco routines took months and months of nightly rehearsals and didnt have all of those dangerous lifts. There was very little actual dancing in Kents routine last night and he could have easily injured himself doing all of those complicated lifts. Im glad he had the good sense to dance with some restraint.

I SO agree! I kept thinking,“When are they going to dance?!” Poor Kent - he phrased it diplomatically that he isn’t big, but his partner was a lot for him to lift. We still talk about Ade’s disco back when - it was a lot of just fun dancing.

Did anyone else notice that Tyce seemed to be channeling Mia? All of his comments and mannerisms were creepily the same style as Mia’s.

YES! Their lips are moving but they’re saying nothing!

I thought when the judges were down on some one, Adam seemed to put it into understandable words the best.

I, too, think that though the judges cannot save some one, I wondered if they were trying to torpedo some one. All along Kent has been a star bound for the finale (and we like him here, so that’s fine) but Robert v Lauren could be a surprise. He smoked that last night. I wondered about hip hop in clown suits with make up, but he did out dance the all star.

Since I am not a dance expert, I try to go by which dancer is drawing my eye- Kent always does, Robert did last night, Lauren usually does.

Did they assign dances & costumes based on trying to skew the results?

Looking back over the whole season, I have to say Lauren impressed the most consistently and performed the best in a wide range of styles (and when I think she just graduated high school–yikes!)–but I don’t think anything can stop the Kent train now, and giving him that last dance was just the cherry on top. I think the producers love having a winner with a big personality because it helps promote the show. Robert still leaves me completely cold. I see Adechike’s weaknesses, but appreciate the dignity he’s brought to the show (even when being treated disgracefully), especially in light of Robert’s mugging and Kent’s babbling.

^I completely agree with you MommaJ. There is just something about Robert that leaves me completely disconnected. Last night, I really just turned the channel when Cat was reading out his number because his mugging makes me nauseous. And did anybody believe for a second that he had outdanced Dom? Oh please! Lauren is still my favorite, but I am continually impressed at Adechike’s composure under fire. He has faced more criticism from the judges than the other three combined, and he stands there and takes it better than any contestant that I have ever seen. I hate how most of the time they can’t even articulate what he has done wrong! It’s almost as if he is being criticized for just being there. In the back of my head, something is telling me that the more he gets criticized, the more his fans will vote for him. I just hope that Lauren isn’t the one to go.

I love watching Robert as a dancer. And he has grown tremendously during the course of this show. When he is just standing there talking, yes he can be “goofy”, but in his dance he is magnificent! That waltz last night was breathtaking and the clown thing was great.

I really wanted AdeChike’ to shine last night, but I absolutely see what the judges are saying about him: He just does not ever loosen up his upper torso. If you watch his arms compared to others, you will see that his appear restrained somehow. I think, though, that he will take that critique and learn from it.

So my votes went for Kent, Lauren, and Robert. Much as I would hate it cause I love AdeChike’s heart (and his dancing), I do not think he is the strongest dancer left. It’s about the “favorite”, though, so we’ll see!

Although the fans may boo, I think it’s totally appropriate for the judges to give dance-related critiques - back too stiff, hands curled up, etc. It’s the Mia/Tyce saying nothing critiques that bother me.

I was not impressed by AdeChike’s dancing last night so i totally see why the judges critique him the way they do.

Kent the disco was not good but the last dance - spectacular.

Robert - loved the hiphop clown routine.

Lauren - I did not get to see the one dance where she was dressed in the black cat suit - we had storms last night and kept losing the cable and lost it just as that dance started grr.

Most seasons I have had a definite favorite that I wanted to win. This season I like Lauren, Robert and Kent but find myself wavering between the three of them as I don’t love every dance they each do (like I did with Joshua last (?) season.)

OMG, Yes … definitively creepy.

Agree with you missypie. When they just can’t give any constructive feedback but just go on about how it was right or not right, it is really annoying. Or they just gush about the choreographer. They need another judge that knows what they are talking about, not just what they feel.

There’s maybe one choreographer per night who deserves to be gushed over. Several others might merit a “good job.” Several others who should be fired.

They should pull an American Idol on the panel. They desperately need a ballroom expert and a hip hop expert. I think they are losing credibility because of the judges’ panel this year. Please just provide us dance non-experts with an expert point of view; leave the gushing to the people watching at home.

SPOILER ALERT wanted - Ok I totally forgot to watch. Who left?
