SYTYCD Season 9

I couldn’t concentrate on the show because I couldn’t get over how weird Sonya Tayeh looked. I felt like I was in an alternate universe.

Actually I got bored and switched channels. As I have done the whole season. I usually adore this show, but it never captured me this year.

I agree. By the time the lion king came on I was bored out of my mind watching Whitney shake her moneymaker. I feel lime this show has run its course.

I thought it was a great show—loved seeing the dances again and the new ones were great. i hope the show comes back again, but it’d be great if they could go back to two nights…
A summer without SYTYCD to look forward to is a sad prospect indeed!

I think the 2 nights helped us get to know and connect with the dancers. It is the first season where I just did not care who won.

Yes, but I started to care a lot about who would NOT win. Big sigh of relief from me that it wasn’t Cyrus.

Kudos, viewers. You got it right!

Satisfied with who won, but, like others said, I never really got into this season. I hope they go back to the old format next summer.

This was the first season I watched so I can’t compare it to others, but must admit that it was lacking the format of a separate results show…and, it was too weird to have a whole week between the final dances and the results.

Tell me something. Was Russell better (at other genres) than Cyrus? I spent that whole season knowning that Jakob was a far better dancer but that Russell would win, but I don’t recall being too upset by that. Was I just taken in by Russell’s smile?

I also think knowing there would be two winners instead of just one made it less suspenseful.

missypie, not only was Russell better than Cyrus at other genres, he had to dance everything from disco to folk dance. What I hated this years was the lack of variety.

And as much as I loved the all-stars last time, I wanted them to focus on these dancers. I was happy with the winners, but I didn’t feel emotionally connected to them. I remember crying a few seasons back when it was time for a Dominic to leave. This year, no tears.

The show really suffered from the format changes–since it’s unclear whether it will return for another season, I like to think this was the producers’ way of making the end easier on us long-time fans…
