Tackling the Blue Book

Helping my son tackle the Blue Book this summer. Because he has a busy summer, he can only devote 1.5 - 2 hours per weekday on it. He is less motivated and so I am structuring his study time and providing some wonderful incentives for him.

Should he start at the beginning of test 1, complete it and review answers at the web site before moving to test 2? Or would completing all math sections first in ALL tests than move to another test area?

mm

He should save the first 3 tests, as those are the ones with definite scoring curves, and then practice on the other 7. I would recommend taking it section by section. Have him do a section of a test with no time limits, and then go back and review that section. Then move on to the next section and do the same thing. The first 3 practice tests should be taken to perfect timing, and give him an accurate estimation of his score and progress.

I feel reviewing after taking each section is most effective because the questions are still fresh in your head, and you can sort of “retrace” your course of thought and understand why you chose the wrong answer (or the right one for that matter).
