Could anyone please describe their experience at Taft and how well their college counselors did to help place you in your ideal college?
I will be attending next year as a sophomore, and I was just wondering if I should start early in making a close relationship with the college coordinators.
College counselors don’t really “place” students anymore… But they will advise you to find the best fit/match…
Yea I apologize, that’s what I meant to say. By place I meant “match you with your ideal colleges”.
I’m sure they have a timetable for doing this. One of the wonderful things about going to a school like Taft is that college counseling will be managed so well that you won’t have to worry about what you should be doing and when. You can stay focused on all the opportunities Taft offers.
Yea I’m sure your 100% correct. They most definitely take more time/care at BS to help you, compared to public schools where they’ve got thousands of other kids to worry about.
I graduated from Taft many decades ago but I have cousins there now-you will get lots of personal attention from your counselors. As a new sophomore or “mid” the best thing you can do next year is focus on your classes and your ECs and create connections with your teachers so that when you begin working with counselors, Taft will have many positives to share with colleges.
