so we all know that the UC TAG gpa req for UCSB was raised for fall 2012 transfer students from a 3.0 to 3.2. I was just wondering how often they change that gpa req. I know they update the tag annually but do you think theres a possibility that they will raise it again higher than a 3.2 for fall of 2013 transfer students???

I second lawlking- There are too many factors to be sure. TAG has changed immensely over the years, so there’s no predicting (accurately) how it will change in years to come.

UCSD raised their TAG from 3.0 to 3.5 in Fall 2011. However, an article on UCSD website states they will be eliminating the TAG program this year for good.

But to answer your question! I have a feeling that UCSD will remove their TAG, and those mid-tier UC schools like UCD, UCI and UCSB will eventually raise it up to 3.5

It is not known if UCSD is eliminating their tag yet. They are still unsure whether it will continue. For fall 2012 tag, they received significantly less applicants for tag so they might continue the tag program.

False. UCSD decided on Dec 8, 2011 to eliminate tag. It will continue though for current CC students.

“According to Powers, community college students who acquired full-time status by or before Fall 2011 will still be eligible to transfer to UCSD under TAG. The change will affect students who start at community colleges next year.”

I was talking to an admissions rep. at UCI about TAG for next year in case I didnt get in this year and she said that the University wont discuss TAG requirements till the summer. When I pressed her a little more about the matter tho, she hinted at either the GPA req being raised, how high tho, idk, but being that UCI was the 3rd most applied to UC this year, the program may be cut next year =/
