Take a Chance on Me - CSU East Bay

Hello everyone,

Here’s my situation currently. I am looking to apply for admission for the Summer Quarter 2013 at CSU East Bay, for a BA History major (not impacted). I will probably be applying in the next couple of days so I can get it in before the priority deadline on Feb 28th. Here is the brief summary of my educational experience:

– 2.5 cumulative GPA from UC Santa Cruz. Attended for 9 quarters and accumulated 120 quarter units. Enrollment barred currently for poor performance in my last quarter.

– 3.2 cumulative GPA from collection of community colleges: DVC, Contra Costa College and Foothill College. Currently in good standing at all of them, and have accumulated just shy of 30 quarter units.

– For my big four I have taken SPCH128 (DVC) to satisfy my A1, I have taken A2/A3 equivalencies at UCSC (C1/C2 requirements), I have taken MATH10 (Foothill) to satisfy my B4.

My concern is that my C1/C2 courses I took at UCSC would not satisfy the A2/A3 requirements, however it seems that the course descriptions are a match for the requirements. Also upon some further research, one CC Freshman Composition class would satisfy both A2/C1, and another Composition/Critical Thinking class would satisfy both A3/C2, so it seems that both requirements are equivalent to each other. Also the course descriptions for both C1 and C2 look like they would satisfy an A2 and A3. I will probably be talking to a counselor about that to make sure that logic checks out.

What do you think are my chances of getting in either way?

Thanks,
Nick
