Take a chance on me

white male competitive prep school
3.2 gpa uw
SAT’s 620 CR, 720 M, 630 W

honors science
quantity ec’s, but not much leadership
all-state varsity swimmer

Chance me for (in order of desirability):
Tufts (dream school? I am a legacy if that helps, would also go ED if it wasn’t a total throw away)
George Washington (1st choice, would possibly go ED if it would help)
(ED1 at Tufts then ED2 at GW?)
BU
Tulane
American U
Carnegie Mellon
Northeastern
Colorado College
University of Vermont
College of Charleston

Suggestions on additional safeties/matches would also be appreciated:
urban/town setting, 2k-10k students

I think you have a good plan for Tufts and GW applications. I don’t know about the admissions policies of all the others, but Vermont is rolling, so you could also apply there early. The only thing that could mess things up is if Tufts defers you, since then GW ED2 would be binding, and you wouldn’t hear from Tufts again until April 1.

That’s something to think about, but I am thinking that if Tufts is a no-go in the ED round, a deferral is likely to become a no come spring. I would be pretty happy with GW.

Tufts is D3 for swimming and I have talked to swim coach. I have no idea if the coaches can help you out at all. Does anyone know?

Does the rest of the list look like it is on track? What about safeties? I would guess that College of Charleston looks like a good bet. What about UVM?
Then the other four - Tulane, American, CM, NU, CC? Hoping they are matches? Any input anyone?

Looking for any info on whether or not any of the schools on this list are true safeties, and if not, some safety suggestions at like schools. THANKS!!!

Tulane is moving up as a top choice for me. Do I have a chance. I would go early action there.

I heard that early action was the way to go for Tulane this past year. Any idea if they will cut back on early action admits in this coming year?
