gnuorder, Stanford will be a bit of a reach for you I’m afraid to say. Your SAT and GPA are very strong for most schools, but will be considered a reach for the Ivy League schools, along with MIT, Cal Tech, Stanford, and others to name a few. Re-take your SAT and raise that math score. Your stats/resume are just “okay” compared to many other Stanford candidates in the applicant pool. Besides receiving those nice awards, your EC’s are good but not great and you probably won’t stand out as much compared to other applicants here either. Are there any other schools on your list you would like some input on with regard to your chances? Fear not, you will be getting accepted to some outstanding schools because you are a truly solid applicant! Stanfor is just one of those schools that has some truly amazing applicants that get turned down!!

Peachaso is being a bit harsh, IMO. Your CR score is gorgeous, and 800s on CR typically have around a 20% acceptance rate. Try to raise the math, mine started around where yours is but I raised it up to a 770. You have two perfect SAT II scores. Your GPA is quite exemplary. Still, jshain was right by saying it’s a bit of a reach because truth be told, it’s a reach for nearly everyone.

Your ECs are typical of a lot of the people applying, but the fact that you ORGANIZED a regional conference is interesting - highlight that in your EC essay on the common app?

Also, you’re obviously an excellent writer, judging from the ECs and SAT W score. My only comment would be to take yourself out of the shoes of a newspaper editor and back into the shoes of a high schooler when writing your essays. Journalism is one thing, personal writing and introspection is something completely different.

Well you’ve got at least one more shot to bring it back up. I’m sure you can find a way to practice more. As for the APs, that’s a nice roundup. If you’re keen on Stanford, apply EA, try to make your essays spectacular, and see what happens.
