<p>I’m going to take AP Calculus and SAT II Math 2C in May. Do I need to use different prep books to study these two tests. Is SAT II Math only cover up to pre calculus? Should I wait till Oct 07 to take the Math 2C? I am afraid I might not have enough time to study both AP and SAT II since they cover different material. Please advise.</p>
<p>I’d say definitely use different books. SAT II Math 2c covers only through precalculus (as well as algebra II and some geometry). If you can, go to a bookstore or a library to flip through a Math 2c study book and see how familiar the concepts and problem types seem… then decide if you want to take it in May. Also, is taking it in June not an option? Waiting until October means you may forget even more calculus/precalc math…</p>
<p>wow, I’ve taken both, and I can easily tell you that the SAT 2c is a joke compared to the AP calc BC test.</p>
<p>plus, they dont have anything to do with eachother. There are no derivatives, or integrals on the sat2, but the sequences you learn in calc might help a tad.</p>
<p>Definitely use different books, as they cover very different things. I didn’t bother studying for the SAT IIc test, since I was in Calc AB and figured I already knew everything. I took the test, and got a 710, mainly because I’d forgotten a lot of trig. I got a 5 on the AP test I took the month before.</p>
<p>I retook the SAT II the following fall after reviewing the pre-trig/calc stuff, and got a 780. Part of that was a different curve, but part of it was that I remembered more.</p>
<p>So definitely study two different books.</p>
<p>you will definately have to brush up on your precalc stuff for the Math L2 exam because you probably havent seen some of the stuff from precalc for a whole year

<p>Take math IIc after precal. It doesn’t cover calculus, and if you wait till then, you’ll probably forget the stuff you learned in precal, which it does cover.</p>
