Take O-Chem with a full course load?

Hey,

I was wondering if I could get a few experienced opinions on this

I’ll be taking first semester O-Chem this coming spring. My dilemma is whether or not to take a full course load (4 classes) or take a lesser load of 3 classes. The classes woudl be:

O-Chem 1
Environmental Economics
Statistics

And I’m considering the 4th class to be either

Advanced Immunology with (or without) lab
or
Some Literature class about India

Do you think that if I took 4 classes, the ones I have in mind woudl be too challenging to keep up with, or do you recommend I go for it? Also, do you recommend 3 course route to give me ample time to focus on O-chem, or do you think that it’s a silly idea? I don’t want to take 3 classes and end up having ample time, etc., but I also don’t want to be super stressed every day of my fall semester with a bad GPA just so I could take one more class.

Thanks!

Drew

I also might consider a course load of:

O-Chem 1 and lab
Env. Econ
Stats
Physics 1 and lab

Does this seem too quantitatively intense?

thanks!

Most bio majors that I know take O-chem, another lab science, and two other classes for a total of 4. Taking 3 classes is way too few credits. I would take o-chem with physics or cell & molec. That shouldn’t be too tough of a schedule as stats is easy and env. econ is not bad at all.

cool, thanks!

yeah, you definately need to take four classes, but I agree that you should load up with as much fluff as you can.

“On whether it’s too hard”

But you can’t take a sub-normal courseload. That’s clearly a bad idea.
