Hello,

I am an international student and just got admitted to the College of Engineering at UM. I am still taking one prerequisite course now. it seems I can’t have a good grade in this course because I have been slacking hardcore! Even though I have a 4.0 GPA so far, I am very afraid UM will take the decision back if I only a B- or C in this course at the end.

Please let me know what you think. Will UM reject me at the end? Thank you!

Think of it this way: UM admitted you and want you to attend their school. Let me reiterate - they WANT you to attend. If you get one B- or even a C they won’t rescind you. Chill out, man!

Then have you ever heard of this kind of case?

It is definitely possible that a college could deny someone their admittance if the student gets severe “senioritus” and gets awful grades. However, a B- or C will not deter them from their initial decision of “accept.” D’s and F’s for sure, but hardly ever a C and certainly not ever a B, especially Michigan.
