Essays are pretty awesome
Recs are pretty awesome too

wow…it’s like i have the whole common app here. hahaha. well, thanks a lot for the feedback.

OH! Schools i’m applyin : Harvard (w/ older sister legacy), Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, Cornell, Duke, UPenn, MIT, Northwestern, Columbia

UC’s: Berkeley, LA : most likely will get in
UCSD/UCI/UCSB : pretty much guaranteed.

My school sends about 45 to berkeley and LA every year, so i have a pretty secure spot at those schools.

I agree with you about the UCs (your own eval of yourself).

As to the Ivies/biggies:

Harvard/Yale/Princeton/MIT/UPenn: Slightly higher reach than C/D/C below, because a) they are for everyone and b) I think you’re well-rounded enough to stand a better chance at the first two (three?) than you do at MIT

Cornell/Dartmouth/Columbia: reach to slight match (better chances at Dartmouth, which I feel like is a little less selective than the others)

Duke/Northwestern: match/maybe safety at NW

thanks a lot silvia. Gives me hope. How much does having a legacy of only one year help? My sister’s harvard '09

You have a weighted gpa OVER 4.0? Yes, you are really good at math. And logic, too.

No one is a safety at Northwestern. You need a true safety.

nimxnooj:

UCB/UCLA: Match
UCSD: Safe Match
UCI/UCSB: Safety

how is your unweighted gpa over 4.0? what school do you go to by the way? My cousins live in northridge

oh and I think cornell is the easiest of all ivies to get in, so you will probably get in there with your stats, UCs are pretty much a guarantee and harvard yale mit, those are always like :-/ iffy

Cleveland High School. Over 4.0 cause my school offers a class dass worth a 5.0 or something. Iunno, but dass what it said on my trasncripts. Well, any of the top schools are fine. Thanks for all the replies. Anyone else?

UCLA/UCB: Match
UCSD: Safe Match
UCI/UCSB: Safety

Well, some schools have max unweighted of 4.3, to differentiate between A and A+.

I’m not sure, but i would think you’d have a decent chance at all those. Looks like you’ve committed yourself to and are at very high levels for your EC’s.

Btw, is there any particular reason you’re applying to every single Ivy but brown?

iunno. at least in the korean-american community, brown isn’t way up there on the ivy list. Or maybe its an LA thing. Derno. Brown’s an excellent school, but i just don’t know enough about it to apply. As for NW, i’m with andrw, i don’t think anyone’s a safety for NW. It’sl ike saying your a safety at UCB. anyone else?
