Your scores are not bad at all, simply increase M2 to or more 750 and aim for a 2200+ sat and you will be fine (if you choose to reapply). As always you will need some luck. Try looking for colleges were you are at the top 25% and that that do offer at least merit to internationals (like TCU).
@derprage Your multiple posts have shown you to be a prestige seeker of the highest order rather than a seeker of knowledge. Most of the top colleges to which you have applied have sniffed this out. You are fortunate that a school like UWM, which fits quite nicely on the list of schools for which you still pine despite your lack of appreciation, has offered you a space. Your best, and most ethical, course of action IMHO is to accept their offer, enroll, and if you really don’t like it then apply as a transfer to some of your preferred choices understanding that none of them are going to be guaranteed.
@SephardicJewESA Hey, interesting to read about your experience! Could you please give us some more details about your gap year time - what type of new EC did you do, whether you took the SATs again or not, what else do you believe enhanced your app this time around, etc, I think it can be pretty helpful for a lot of us here

And P.S., what’s up with the attitude “Everyone get’s into Purdue CS.” I personally don’t think it’s amusing to say admission to a certain major is that easy. Re-consider your reason for taking a gap year, other than to say you want to get into “prestigious” or “better” schools.
@derprage honestly. I’m done giving you honest, genuine advice that you’re too stubborn and arrogant to accept. As I expressed before, I’d LOVE to attend UW-Madison. It’s a fantastic school, one of THE best publics in the country. Many students in the United States, AND abroad (believe it or not, in your country), would LOVE to even consider themselves lucky to gain admittance to Wisconsin. Here’s a suggestion to you: deposit @ UW-Madison. If you don’t like it, transfer after a year and a half or so. Otherwise, quit it with the snobby, holier-than-thou attitude, humble yourself, and consider yourself GRATEFUL to be a Badger. If not, you’re better off seeking higher education options away from the USA. And quite bluntly, I’m not quite sure that we’d want someone like you here anyway.

Congrats, it’s a great school. On top of its stellar domestic reputation, the Chinese AWRU rankings have UWM as #24 university in the world (2 spots below Michigan) and the British Times rankings have it at #29. I don’t think you’re going to need to do a lot of apologizing for your choice to anyone who actually knows anything about academics.

I downloaded all rankings and created my own ranking out of them lol
I just connected with fellow CS students who have scores better higher than mine and still are in a similar situation as I am. I am now feeling glad that I got admitted to UWisconsin haha
derprage - Will you be watching the NCAA finals on Monday night? I think only Vegas oddsmakers and Kentucky alumni/ae were disappointed by Wisconsin’s victory.
