Taking APCS-AB at school but writing APCS-A

<p>My D is taking APCS-AB at school, mainly because she likes solving problems and also wants to have a good basic understanding of CS. </p>

<p>While she is enthusiastic about the labs and projects, the free response exams are a different matter because of the silly syntax/API memorization. She is thinking of writing APCS-A. </p>

<p>Will that be a red flag for college admission?</p>
