I am taking the SAT II BioM in June and have begun studying for it. I am using Kaplans and Cliffs AP Bio. I have not taken AP bio or honors bio but I did take NYS regents bio and did very well. Anyway, I was looking on the collegboard website and it appears that I will have to know some BioM, how much will I need to know of it? Should I prepare equally with both. I am pretty comfortable with BioM, I just prefer BioE. I am shooting for at least a 700 but I really want between a 750-800. Any replies will greatly be appreciated! :)</p>
<p>Not to discourage you or anything, but you can’t even compare regents bio and the SAT II. I took honors Biology in Ninth grade and did well in the class and on the regents, but when I took the SAT II, I was so unprepared. I had to cancel my score because coming out of the test, I knew I failed. But then again, I didn’t really study for it at all. So now I’m in 11th grade and am taking AP Bio, and I plan on taking the June SAT II because when I flicked through a practice test, I knew all of the answers. Honestly, when I look back now, Honors Bio was a joke in terms of how complex the material is when compared to AP Bio.</p>
<p>So I’d recommend taking a practice test and seeing how you do. Yes, you may not have learned much of the material yet, but if you are having trouble on the sections you already learned, then that should warn you. Most likely, it would be best for you to take the SAT II, and then cancel if you feel that you did bad, and then retake it after taking AP Bio.</p>
<p>I know that Regents Bio is a joke compared to the SAT II, but my regent’s bio class was more of a pre-AP bio course. I am willing to study a lot and I don’t find any of the info challenging. Also, if I do poorly on the June one, I can retake it at a later date. I was actually somewhat suprised to see how easy the questions were, I was expecting something a lot harder, in both Cliffs and Kaplan.</p>

<p>I also did regents bio 9th grade, took it in june and got 670 (i was very happy-my class was UBER basic)…anyway, the thing about the sat ii is concepts! you can memorize until you’re blue in the face, but if you don’t get how it fits together, you can’t get a good score. Also, the niche-y little rules do come up. </p>
<p>The BioM? I think it says on collegeboard the exact percent and questions, but I’d suggest taking Bio M instead of Bio E after regents biology. While it has a better percentage (for example, people who get a 670 on bio e are like 90th percentile, a 670 on bio m is like 80th), it is a lottt harder. All my friends who took it after regents bio either cancelled or won’t even tell me their scores! </p>
<p>Don’t fear though-I know it seems impossible now and not easy at all, but you’ll get through the test. If you care enough to get a review book now for june’s test, study, and do your best, you’re already ahead of the game.</p>
