I am a senior in high school. I was thinking over the summer of taking Calc I over the summer at my local CC just to learn it so I can do well in it when i am at my university. Would I have to report it to my university though if I took it?

I don’t think so, unless there is a calculus course which is forbidden to people who have taken calculus previously.

Universities like to have transcripts for courses taken at other institutions. Check with your university to see whether or not it’s a requirement.

Alternatively, you could audit the course at the CC if they permit this.

If you’re a self-starter, you could just study the material yourself. There’s an online calculus textbook at [Free Online MIT Course Materials | Supplemental Resources | MIT OpenCourseWare](http://ocw.mit.edu/ans7870/resources/Strang/strangtext.htm) and online course videos at [UCCS | Department of Mathematics](http://www.uccs.edu/~math/vidarchive.html)
