I am a freshman pre-med student and I will be done with Chem 1 this semester. However, so I don’t have to triple up next semester with Bio 1, Calc 1, and Chem 2, I am considering taking Chem 2 over the summer at a 4-year public university in my home town, as I cannot afford housing at my real college.
However, this university in my home town is not considered as competitive or prestigious as my own by most. When it comes down to applying, will med schools frown upon my decision to take Chem 2 in a less competitive school? Please assume, for the sake of this question, that I plan to apply to very competitive medical schools. Will it be a blatant disadvantage?
